Young Women Theme

We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him.
We will "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things,
and in all places" (
Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live
the Young Women values, which are:
Faith
Divine Nature
Individual Worth
Knowledge
Choice and Accountability
Good Works
Integrity and
Virtue.
We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values,
we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants,
receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

If Friends were Flowers, I'd Pick You!

We had a fun Mia Maid mother-daughter individual class activity last night.
We played getting to know you games, had 2 wonderful friendship salads( where everyone helps bring some of the ingredients), rolls , punch, and " friendship fudge"( everyone helps squeeze the ziploc bag). The ideas is that when everyone contributes and is a part of things, you can create something wonderful.
Cate and Summer won the game and each got a prize.

Our ward theme had been on 'unity" so this went in line with that.....unity in our homes, in our class and in our ward . We talked about importnat principles of friendship, being friends with our mom's, and the importance of motherhood. The girls wrote nice notes to their mom's or friends about the 5 things they loved about them and a special memory the had with them.
We also took pictures of everyone , as you can see. We partied to the beach boys and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Brooke and Sherry were the awesome kitchen help. They did a great job. Sister Romans did the game and talk.

A good time was had by all.

Our yummy lettuce salad :

1bag iceberg lettuce, 2 bags romaine lettuce
1 carton sliced mushrooms
1 lb grated swiss cheese
1 bottle or package of real precooked bacon bits
2 small bags of slivered almonds
1 bag craisens, regular flavor

Toss together and right before serving put on Brianna's Poppyseed Dressing ( can use any brand)

Our yummy fruit salad:
Chop and toss : apples, bananas, raspberries, kwiw, oranges and fresh pinapple. You realy can use any fruit.

Friendship Fudge:

Mix in a gallon ziplock bag.
4 cups powdered sugar;
3 ounces softened cream cheese;
1/2 cup softened margarine;
1/2 cup cocoa;
1 tsp. vanilla;
1/2 chopped nuts

Mix ingredients together by squeezing the bag and passing it around the group. discuss friendship, teamwork, commitment, service, etc. The possibilities are endless. When is is mixed together. roll it into a log and slice and serve. (May need extra powdered sugar or eat with spoons out of the bag.)
