Young Women Theme

We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him.
We will "stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things,
and in all places" (
Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live
the Young Women values, which are:
Faith
Divine Nature
Individual Worth
Knowledge
Choice and Accountability
Good Works
Integrity and
Virtue.
We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values,
we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants,
receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

Happiness ( annonymous source)

There is something appealing and desirable about people who are truly happy; they radiate the peace they feel with themselves and the world. But it seems the world in general is becoming more negative - we're much better at sulking than smiling. Let's all fill our lives with laughter, and practice smiling a bit! Focus on your blessings...not what is wrong with your life.

1. Surround yourself with happy people: You may not be aware, but take a good look at the people you spend your time with. Do they make you feel good or are they the type to dampen your spirits or lead you away from being kind to everyone?

2. Indulge in your passions: Most people don't do what they love, or they don't do it often enough. Does painting make you smile, or what about the musical instrument you've always wanted to learn? Do it already and stop making excuses.

3. Rise early: Think of all the things you can do with that extra time - watch the sunrise, eat breakfast for a change, read or have some quality "me time." Start the day by reading your scriptures.

4. Listen to inspiring music: It's a personal belief that music is the closest thing we have to heaven. Music can have a powerful effect on your spirit, whether it brings it down or makes it shine. And gospel music is definitely not the only inspirational stuff out there....but it is good.

5. Think positively: Thoughts are an extremely powerful tool. Thinking negatively seems to make the whole day spiral downward, encouraging more bad things to happen. But having a good attitude can have the opposite effect. We must also learn to forgive people and learn to appreciate something about everyone. Even the people that bug you. We are all children of our Heaveny Father.Don't cut people out of your life.....learn to love them somehow. Try it. It works.

6. Stay close to the gospel and the teachings of the church and you will be safe and happy. Don't get caught up in alot of self-help stuff......the scriptures are powerful. And pray often.
